JOB OPENING
Teacher (Academic Programs) for a non-profit learning center that
offers after-school and weekend academic and cultural programs.
• Assist Director of Education in developing new instructional materials,
curricula, and other study plans (including syllabus, objectives, and
particulars to be learned) for classes in Chinese language phonics, reading,
writing, and speaking; Math; Fine Arts; and private tutoring sessions tailored
to individual students’ needs.
• Instruct classes of elementary school aged children on a variety of
subjects.
• Review English and Chinese language media textbooks, software, and
other educational materials and make recommendations on purchases, as well as
monitor such materials and the way teachers use them in the classroom.
• Evaluate quality and how well the existing educational curriculum meets
established criteria, as well as the students’ needs and the goals of students’
parents.
• Assist Director of Education in researching teaching methods and
techniques (in the areas of foreign language and fine arts) and develop
procedures to determine whether overall program and specific class goals are
being met.
• Assist other instructors in their learning of new educational
materials, software, and equipment, as well as work with them one-on-one to
improve their teaching skills.
